The number of dogs who are discarded by their families is simply heartbreaking. The reasons are many, but the results are the same – a dog who once had a family is left alone in the world. Thankfully, there are many kind individuals that pick up the pieces of these dogs’ broken hearts. Freyja is one of those dogs. The Siberian Husky was abandoned on the streets of Georgia until this compassionate man found her…

Her rescuer took her to the vet to get checked. Her one foggy eye is an old “war wound” but her eye is fine. She also received her shots. She is around 20 pounds underweight.
“Turns out she has heart worms…Probably why they dumped her,” says her rescuer. “Fixable, a little pricey, but whatever, she’s a good pup and worth it.”
“So to the asshats that ‘weren’t looking’…Thanks for the house broken and fully trained Husky.”

Freyja is so lucky! She was found by good people. It turns out it’s not the first time her new family has saved a dog. “My first dog growing up was a mutt covered in motor oil and its sh*t,” explains her new dad. “My family never turns away an animal in need.”

Sick Shelter Dogs Refuse To Be Separated, Then Staff Takes 1 Pic That Changes Their World Forever.
When life gets rough, it’s good to have a friend by your side.For German Shepherd best friends Adonis and Apollo, all they have is each other. The dogs grew up together, but were surrendered to a high-kill animal shelter when their owners could no longer care for them. Shelter staff put them in the same kennel, but were heartbroken by their behavior.
Both pups were terrified and shaking with fear from their ordeal.
From the moment they were left alone, Adonis and Apollo would not stop hugging each other. Shelter staff snapped some photos and posted them online where they went viral overnight.
A no kill animal rescue called A-Team Elite Rescue Dogs out of Long Island heard about Adonis and Apollo and decided to take them in.
The duo were checked out by a vet and diagnosed with heartworms, common in Texas and likely the reason they were given away.
They were put on a basic treatment plan and cleared for adoption… but rescue staff were concerned their ailment was enough to scare forever families away.
The A-Team took to Facebook and posted about the dogs. Within hours, a woman named Jennifer immediately applied to adopt them.
Jennifer drove all the way to the shelter to take the pups back home – where they had acres of land and 2 other rescue dogs to play with.
In a scary turn of events, Adonis got scared of the new surroundings and ran away… but less than 24 hours later was reunited with Apollo and his new forever family.
We are so very glad that Adonis and Apollo found their forever homes. Not everyone is able to rescue… but if you ever get the chance, adopt don’t shop!

Lioness Finds Injured Baby Fox On The Road – What She Then Does Brings The Photographer To Tears
The animal kingdom is indeed fascinating in many ways.Take for example the lion – one of the most feared predators wandering on earth.
The “King of the Jungle” is at the top of the food chain and inspires fear in many animals. Lions hunt in packs, requiring much organization and cooperation.
So when a wildlife photographer witnessed a lioness approache an injuured baby fox, he was certain that the little animal’s fate was sealed.
But the situation quickly took a very unexpected turn.
It all started with a leading female lion walked up to an injured little fox that lay unprotected on the road in her herd’s territory.
This particular breed of fox is often hunted by larger predators, so one can oly imagine how afraid the tiny animal was facing the grand lioness.
And things certainly did not improve for the little guy when a large male lion also came forward. He likely saw the little fox as easy prey.
Several curious little lion cubs also approached to see what was going on …
“When we arrived, there were several lions surrounding a baby fox, who apparently had injured her spine – she had difficulty to stand on its hind legs,” nature photographer Graham Dyer told Barcroft TV.
Male lions don’t often participate in lions’ hunt, but this male decided to make an attempt at the fox.
It prepared to attack…
But that’s when the female’s maternal instinct hit with full force.
She stood between them, protecting the fox.
Despite the larger lion’s persistence and threatening demeanor toward her, she refused to leave the fox’s side.
And showed him just how serious she was!
The male lion was anything but pleased, but ultimately, he left the fox alone.
The brave lioness returned to her cubs and the fox wandered off, away from the road – to safety.
This story is really evidence that maternal instinct is strong- even in animals!
