That was the case for one veteran and his beloved service dog, who have such an unbreakable bond that when it came to his wedding day, he had to have his dog involved in a special way. Justin Lansford is a US Army veteran from Silver Spring, Maryland. In 2012, he was deployed as a paratrooper to Afghanistan and suffered an accident. 

  “We struck an IED and it flipped my truck completely,” Justin told ABC News. “I had bilaterally severed femurs which resulted in the amputation of my left leg.” 

 But while recovering at the hospital, Justin got an opportunity that would change his life. A group called Warrior Canine Connections pairs wounded servicemen with support dogs. 

 Justin was paired with a golden retriever named Gabe.

  Gabe was invaluable in helping Justin readjust after losing his leg. 

  “The less I use my wheelchair, the more I need his help in smaller tasks and the more he is there,” Justin said. “It has been very comforting to know that.” 

  “He helps me with one thing to the next. I can use him as a stable surface to lean on, as I get to and from the ground.

But Gabe did more than just help him around. He quickly proved to be a source of emotional support and friendship. “Since day one, we’ve been joined to the hip,” Justin told the New York Daily News.  “He’s there for me all day, every day.” 

 The dog made a big impact not only on Justin, but on his longtime girlfriend Carol, who worked for Warrior Canine Connections and knew the deep connection they shared. 

  “You have to make sure a support dog is always happy and that they’ll love the person they’re with forever,” Carol told Buzzfeed. 

So when Justin & Carol got married in 2015, it felt only right to have Gabe be part of the ceremony. But while some people have their dogs act as ring bearers or just as guests, Justin wanted his beloved dog by his side on his big day and gave him a position of honor: his best man. 

  “He goes everywhere I go,” Justin told the Daily News. “He’s certainly there to pick me up emotionally when I need it. Why would the wedding be any different?”

The bride certainly had no objections to Justin’s unique choice. “Justin and Gabe go everywhere together and our wedding did not seem like it should be any different of an occasion,” Carol said. 

“It was really cool to have him right by me,” Justin said. “I don’t think there was a dry eye at that point. It was a pretty steady ‘aww’ throughout the entire wedding.”

Your wedding is a very special day, a time when you want to be surrounded by the friends and family who have supported you the most. It seems only natural that Gabe be at the heart of their big day.

 The marine biologist picked the 46-inch long shark up and, after a few tense minutes, it was soon gliding back through the waves. Mr Holyoak, from Idaho, recalled: 'We saw a young girl looking at something in the water. It was at least a few feet long. 

  'At first I thought it might be a stranded dolphin or porpoise pup. But when I ran over and got close enough to see it was a shark, I had the shock and thrill of my life. 'It was only around 46 inches long, but it came with a full set of teeth. 'The shark was being rolled around in the surf and was under obvious and extreme stress. It showed no signs of life, but it was still very flexible so I thought it had a chance.' 

The marine biologist then grabbed it and carefully removed it from the beach, extremely wary it could thrash around at any time. He said: 'As it was so lethargic I decided to pick it up and take it back out into the wash zone, where there was a lot of highly oxygenated water - just what it needed. 'I gave it a gentle shove, launching it toward deeper water - surprisingly it started to beat its tail fin. 

'It was having a hard time, but at least it was getting back into the waves - luckily it managed to get its bearings and make it into deeper water. Source

 When Michele Burt, her husband Steven, and their three dogs went on a board of a JetBlue plane from Florida to Massachusetts, it supposed to be a routine flight since they have traveled for many times. Respecting the protocols, the Burts had the dogs in carriers under their seats. 

But shortly after the take off, Michele noticed that one of her dogs, Darcy – a lovely French Bulldog – was having some breathing problems. Worried, Michele open Darcy carrier’s door to check on her. The woman was aware she was acting against the flight company’s protocol, but her dog’s life was at danger. 

  “I noticed that her tongue was blue, and I am aware that is a sign of insufficient oxygen”, the woman later explained. “I pulled her out from under the seat and placed her on my lap to cool down and help her relax as she was panicking and breathing frantically.” 

 Flight attendant Renaud Spencer, had no idea what’s going on, so she initially asked Michele to put back her dog, as the flight protocol is extremely strict in these situations. 

However, she soon realized it might be something serious, so she rushed to help, but not before alerting her colleague Diane Asher. The two women, initially used some ice bags to cool Darcy down, but unsuccessfully, though. Then, Renaud – who also owns a French Bulldog, had another idea. One that goes against the protocol, though. 

However, she was ready to take the risk, to save the poor dog’s life. “She [Renaud] brought a small oxygen tank with a mask attached and offered it saying, ‘Maybe this will help,’” Michelle said. “

“I believe Renaud and Diane saved a life, some may reduce the value of life because Darcy is a canine — I do not.” The two flight attendants action saved Darcy’s life, even though that meant they had to act against the rules. So, after they landed, and Darcy fully recovered, Michele decided to wrote a letter to thank these two very kind woman. 

“I wanted to say thank you JetBlue and thank you to Renaud and Diane for doing their job and also being great humans!”

  When finding about the situation, the company couldn’t be prouder. They even praised the two women for their actions! 

“Our mission is to inspire humanity, and we’re very proud of those outstanding crew members who consistently demonstrate a passion for excellent customer service,” JetBlue wrote in a statement.
