Cycling is one of the most eco-friendly ways to travel, and thanks to this solar-powered bike lane that glows in the dark, it just got even moreso.
The luminous blue cycling strip, which can be found near Lidzbark Warminski in the north of Poland, was created by TPA Instytut Badań Technicznych Sp. z o.o. It’s made from a synthetic material that can give out light for up to ten hours at a time once charged by the sun throughout the day.
Although the concept was inspired by Studio Roosegaarde’s Starry Night bike lane in the Netherlands, the technology is quite different as the Dutch version uses LEDs whereas this one is entirely dependent upon solar power.
It’s still in the testing phase at the moment, but let’s hope that this bright idea will be implemented in other countries in the very near future.

When Dean Hornberger and his girlfriend Samantha Eigenbrod saw a photo of a bear who had been struggling with an object stuck on his head for over a month, they decided to try to find and help the bear. What might have been a straightforward rescue turned into an adventure when they caught up with the bear.
A couple of strays were found in the streets of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, where all they could do was hug each other. Lost and confused, they had no where else to turn. The sweet pictures of the pups holding each other have taken the internet by storm.
This amazing video captures just how smart elephants are! The leader of the small group of elephants emerges out of the jungle and on to the road. There is a cyclist right in front of him so he chases the man away. The elephant continues to stand in the road causing a traffic jam. The motorists coming towards him stop immediately not wanting to have him direct his attention towards them and potentially damage their vehicles or cause them injury. The elephant continues to stand across the two lanes of the road until he feels the road is safe to cross.
