She was returning to her cottage and slammed on her brakes to get a picture of the unique sighting. The albino reindeer was beautiful and she wanted to capture a photo of the rare creature. 

After the initial shock wore off, she was able to find her camera and prepare for a perfect shot. The white reindeer was spotted in a reindeer herd at the edge of a forest. Out of the whole pack, this reindeer was the only one who was white. 

He stopped at the side of the road, which is when Poijo took out her camera and snapped a photo. The white reindeer is the same species as a brown reindeer, but has a genetic mutation. White reindeer appear in the wilds of Finland, Norway and Sweden, but are extremely rare. 

In their northern homeland, these beautiful creatures are seen by some as magical and a signal of good luck. Since these guys are so rare to witness, the select few people who do get to see them are extremely lucky!

Meet Kwane Stewart – the Street Vet; a kind man that helps homeless peoples’ animals for free. A furry companion doesn’t care if you’re rich or poor. Their love is pure and unconditional. However, for the pets of those who’re living on the streets, life is sometimes pretty hard due to the lack of medical care, when required. 

That’s why this hero stepped in, decided to make life easier for these people and their beloved four-legged companions. It all started in 2011, when scared by the growing numbers of homeless animals, the now 49-year-old vet, knew he had to do something. 

And his mission is quite simple: to help as many homeless people and their pets, as he can! “Before I knew it, I had a whole line,” Stewart told CNN. 

“There was something about it that I loved. I did it one more time before I decided to just take it to the street and walk to homeless people instead of waiting for them to walk up to me.” 

And since then, the kind veterinarian walks on the streets of California to help. Even small sometimes, his gestures bring so much joy into the souls of those he’s helping. Over the years, Stewart treated over 400 animals and he done that for free. 

However, recently he created a GoFundMe page where other kind people are helping him on his mission. Stewart says this incredible experience helped him to see the world from different eyes and also to beat his own prejudgments. 

“I had my own prejudgments…about homeless people before I started doing this work,” he said. “You just make assumptions about their story without even knowing anything about them. You learn very quickly that you have no idea what put them there.” The vet says some of the stories moved him so much. “I’ve experienced the most genuine stories of love, compassion, struggle, and hope,” he said. 

“These homeless people take care of their pets even better than we do. When they own a pet, it engenders this generosity. They always make sure their pet is fed. ” Stewart finds his motivation and inspiration in these incredible stories. And that makes him even more hunger to succeed. To change something! “Giving a little can make all the difference,” the vet said.

 But while one man worried about his dog, he discovered it was the dog who was more concerned about him — and what appeared to be an injury turned out to just be his kind pet’s way of showing solidarity with him. 

 Russell Jones, from London, broke his ankle last year and ended up in a cast and on crutches. But then something strange happened: his dog, an 8-year-old lurcher named Billy, suddenly started limping, too. Russell came concerned something was wrong with the dog’s foot, and took Billy to the vet the next day. 

The appointment cost £300, or over $400 USD, and involved scans and x-rays… and yet, nothing seemed out of place. 

  “He walked in normally, and when he came out they said they couldn’t find anything wrong with him,” Russell told ITV. Even more bizarrely, Billy started limping again when they got home. And then, Russell’s wife Michelle caught the dog sprinting around the garden while Russell was not around. 

 They then pieced together the truth: that Billy was only faking a limp around Russell out of sympathy for him while he was on crutches! 

 It’s a remarkable show of empathy for a dog, a reminder of just how thoughtful and caring they could be. When his owner couldn’t get around like normal, Billy decided to “limp” in solidarity.

  Russell recently posted a video of Billy limping alongside him, explaining the situation, and adding that he “loves” his dog — even though he cost him hundreds of dollars in pointless medical expenses. 

 The video has now gone viral. While some people joked that the dog was a “con artist,” most people thought it was a heartwarming gesture. 

  “He’s a very caring dog,” Michelle told ITV. While he might rack up the medical bills, Billy is just the kind of loving dog you want to have by your side!

 Police brigadier Leonard Hlathi said police received information that a group of men had gone into the park on 1 April in order to hunt rhino, “when suddenly an elephant attacked and killed one of them”. 

  “His accomplices claimed to have carried his body to the road so that passersby could find it in the morning. They then vanished from the park.” Hlathi said the group of men left the park and informed a family member of the deceased what had happened, who contacted police. 

Park rangers began a search for the man, on foot and by air, but could not locate the man at first due to failing light. Rangers and police returned on 4 April and were able to find the man’s remains in the Crocodile Bridge section of the park. 

  “Indications found at the scene suggested that a pride of lions had devoured the remains leaving only a human skull and a pair of pants,” said Isaac Phaahla, the general manager of communications for the Kruger national park. Three men, aged between 26 and 35, were arrested in the KaMhlushwa and Komatipoort precincts, police said in a statement. 

 The suspects appeared in court on 5 April charged with possession of firearms and ammunition without a licence, conspiracy to poach as well as trespassing. An inquest has also been opened into the cause of the man’s death. 

 The managing executive of Kruger national park said: “Entering Kruger national park illegally and on foot is not wise, it holds many dangers and this incident is evidence of that.

 It is very sad to see the daughters of the deceased mourning the loss of their father, and worse still, only being able to recover very little of his remains.” South Africa, which is home to almost 80% of the world’s rhinos, has been hard hit by poaching. More than 1,000 rhinos were killed by poachers each year in South Africa between 2013 and 2017. 

The number dropped to 769 for 2018, with poachers targeting the animal for its horn, according to Save the Rhino. 

 Kruger national park has the largest concentration of rhinos on the planet, and has been a target for poachers. In 2015, more than 70% of all rhinos known to be poached in South Africa were poached in the park. Source
