Amazing Moment A Canadian Moose Chilling in an Inflatable Pool

Kathy Johnson's 2-year-old grandson was bullied out of his kiddie pool this week in the wildlife-rich Painted Hills neighborhood of Spokane Valley.

A bull moose took refuge from temperatures in the 80s Tuesday afternoon by sneaking into the Johnsons' backyard and cooling off in the inflatable pool.

"It's not really one of those little pools," Johnson said. "It's actually quite big except when there's a moose in it. "The funny thing is that just last week a cow moose did the same thing," she said, as though word was spreading through the valley moose population that the Johnson's pool was a hot-spot for beating the summer heat.

"The cow hung out in the pool for a long time and then got up and nibbled around the yard," Johnson said. "The bull didn't stay as long, and when he got up from the pool he moved on."

Johnson was especially amazed that the hooves of the adult-size moose, which can weigh well over 500 pounds, did no damage to the plastic pool.

Romania Bans Trophy Hunting of Brown Bears, Wolves, Lynx and Wild Cats

Romania has banned all trophy hunting of brown bears, wolves, lynx and wild cats in a surprise decision that gives Europe’s largest population of large carnivores a reprieve from its most severe and immediate threat.

“Hunting for money was already illegal, but it was given a green light anyway,” environment minster, Cristiana Pasca-Palmer, told the Guardian. ‘The damages [clause in the habitats directive] acted as a cover for trophy hunting.”

Gabriel Paun, an activist and conservationist behind a petition that collected 11,000 signatures in the weeks before the hunting ban, sees the government’s decision as a step towards a safer future for Europe’s wild spaces: “The Carpathian mountains are home to more biodiversity than anywhere else in Europe, but for too long they have been ruthlessly exploited for forestry and hunting. Let’s hope the government’s decision is a sign of things to come.”

This Bird Looks Like It Came Straight Out Of Paradise

The more you think you’ve seen all the beauties this world holds, the furthest to the truth you find out you are.

Maybe unicorns are not true, but this bird you will see in the following pictures looks just as magical and mystical as them, but with one difference – it is true, it exists.

The bird has a pattern of colors that when it flies, looks like a rainbow in motion.

The white-browed tit-warbler is a bird that lives in China, the Tian Shan, and the Himalayas, and can be found in boreal forests.

They have a purplish-blue coat with a chestnut cap, a pinkish belly, and an eyebrow that looks grey or white. The males have more vibrant colors than the female tit-warblers. They weigh between 6 and 8 g (0.21–0.28 oz) and are 8.5–10 cm (3.3–3.9 in) long.

These birds are not only beautiful, but they’re also very polite as their tweets make the sound, “sirrrrrr.” The white-browed tit-warblers live in pairs during the breeding season, but around its end, they join flocks of 25 or more. They also have a very colorful diet that ranges from small insects and spiders to small quantities of berries and seeds during the fall and winter.

Fortunately, these colorful birds are not threatened by extinction, which could be due to their well-camouflaged nests or the lack of local predators in their nesting areas.
