If it doesn’t melt your stony heart, nothing will. Actor and filmmaker Easton Dufur had two yellow Labradors, Cookie and Stitch, who shared a very special bond with not only him but also each other.

Dufur explained on Twitter that Stitch and Cookie always shared a food bowl. Stitch had trained Cookie to only eat half of the food so that Stitch was able to have some when she was done. 

Cookie caught on quickly, and ever since she was a puppy, she would leave half the food so her doggy brother could eat some. Their special bond was evident in their ability to put their instincts aside and share food with one another. 

 Sadly, Stitch recently passed away, so now Cookie is without him for the first time. Cookie clearly misses her buddy Stitch, but Easton later noticed something he didn’t expect that made his heart melt. Easton has been putting less food in the bowl since Cookie is the only one eating out of it now.

 Theoretically, Cookie should be able to eat the whole thing herself, since it’s about the same amount of food she was eating before. But she has refused to empty the bowl, stubbornly leaving some behind for her pal. TWITTER: @_EASYBREASY_
“Well before I went to bed, I wanted to check to see if [Cookie] ate. And so I did, and she still left half of her food there so Stitch can eat,” Easton wrote. 

 Whether it was out of habit, or Cookie still had hope that her brother Stitch would be coming back to share her food, this is pretty heart-breaking and heart-warming all at once! 

 Dogs are so smart and loving, and this story just goes to show how loyal they really are.

Bob the golden retriever and his friends are the perfect examples of a group rat rag friends living together in their home in Sao Paulo Brazil. 

Including Bob the dog, there are eight exotic birds along with a friendly hamster, not to mention the human owner of the party. 

Their adventures have been captured on Instagram, where they have stirred up quite the fan base.

 It can be a hard life, but in some cities it is part of the local culture to look after these street animals, providing food and comfort whenever possible. 

 Turkey is especially known for their love of street dogs and cats: many businesses provide shelter during the cold winter months. And one business is making sure some stray dogs have a very comfy place to rest. 

 Dr. Cem Baykal often passes by Istikbal Mobile, a furniture store, on his way to work, but recently he noticed something different outside that caught his eye. 

 Two stray dogs were curled up asleep right outside the store. But they weren’t on the ground, like most stray dogs… they were on a mattress!

It was clear that the owners of the store put out the mattress for them. 

  “The owner of this shop puts one of the beds (with a plastic cover on it) in front of the shop,” Baykal told The Dodo. 

“This bed may be the one they sell that day or it may be one of the incoming ones.” “These two stray dogs lay and sleep there every time.” 

He told The Dodo that he’s gotten to know the good dogs a little bit — one of them helped him across the street on a rainy day. He also says that the store often goes out of there way to help the local strays. 

In the summer, they also provide water and shade from the heat. Even in an area where people are known to be good to these animals, this furniture store goes above-and-beyond. 

  “This street is known as a rich area and everyone gives food or water to the local dog and cats, but no one supplies quality bedding to them normally,” Baykal explained. “This shop does.”

 The donkey was found stranded in a field the next morning, surrounded by deep flood water, after a river overflowed its banks nearby. 

 After getting a call from his owner, Animal Heaven Animal Rescue appealed for help to rescue the donkey. Mike Fleming, a member of Killorglin Rowing Club, found out and with a team of rescuers from the animal shelter, managed to get a rope and buoyancy aid around the donkey before pulling him to land. 

 A spokeswoman for Animal Heaven Animal Rescue said the donkey, which has been called Mike after his rescuer, is recovering at the animal shelter while his stable is repaired. 

 Suzanne Gibbons, founder of the shelter, said: "He is now dried with towels, eating a hot mash, all cosy and warm and our vet has seen him and started him on antibiotics to prevent pneumonia. 

  "He has a small bit of fluid in one lung but our vet said he will recover. All he needs is loads of TLC." Animal Heaven Animal Rescue Source
