"My family and I stand strongly against horse slaughter and against our government harming our wild horses," said actor and director Ed Harris. 

"I am pleading that a humane and common sense solution to the management of our wild horse population be mandated by Congress in keeping with the spirit of the Wild Free-Roaming Horses and Burros Act." Provisions in the budget proposed by the administration would allow the BLM to kill captured wild horses or sell them without restriction—a change that would enable buyers to purchase wild horses on the cheap and haul them to Canada or Mexico for slaughter.

Our nation's iconic wild horses are fighting for their lives and we cannot stand by silently and let that happen. 

 For decades, we have had available humane solutions, which would keep wild equines on the range and save tax dollars. Sadly, agencies continue to discredit proven alternatives instead of committing to implement them. The American people have repeatedly and resoundingly called for wild horses and burros—the descendants of the animals who helped build our country, made our own freedom possible and shaped a vital part of our cultural heritage—to live free on the range. Excited upon seeing the man who used to look after her, when she was just a tiny cub, the lioness wrestles him on the ground and showers him with love and affection. The beautiful moment was captured on camera and it is nothing short of heartwarming! Kiara – named after the famous Lion King character – was orphaned since she was only a few weeks old. But fortunately, she was rescued by a kindhearted man, named Adolfo. 

The man cared for the helpless lion and bottle fed her until she grew into an adult feline. Then, the lioness was taken at the Black Jaguar-White Tiger Foundation – a Mexico City-based, a nonprofit specialized in big cats rescue. Moved at this rehabilitation center to receive expert care, Kiara is about to receive an unexpected visit. Her former caretaker missed her, so he went to see how she handles. But he would never guessed, he’ll get the warmest welcome. 

Soon as Kiara spotted Adolfo, she tun towards him and jumped into his arms. The strong feline put her old human friend to the ground as she adorably hugged him. Watch the lovely reunion:

The Black Jaguar-White Tiger Foundation was founded in 2013 by the Mexican wildlife enthusiast Eduardo Serio, and they rescued and rehabilitated hundreds of big wild cats ever since. 

Most of them, including lions, jaguars, pumas, tigers or leopards, have been rescued from captivity.

But a hand of people are still going above and beyond to save elephants from extinction. Projects like Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Kenya, give us hope that it is not over yet. For nearly half a century the devoted people here are saving and taking care of these magnificent creatures. 

With over 8,000 elephants treated and over 250 orphaned elephants raised, these real-life heroes deserve so much respect. These people put a lot of heart, affection and devotion into their work. To better understand what they’re capable for the seek of the animals they’re fond of, you need to know they’re even sleeping with the orphan elephant, just to make them feel comfortable. 

 Even though people consider them beasts, life is as tough as it can gets for an orphan animals. Just like human babies, they also need someone to keep them warm, to feed them or to cuddle with them.

 Unfortunately, for these baby elephants, their moms are gone – because of ivory poaching – but they found so much love and affection at the people that rescued them – their caretakers. Mostly men, these guys take care of the elephants, just like they are their own babies. But many of them are fathers, so they’re already familiar of how to deal with a baby’s crying. “It feels the same to me as having my own babies in the same room,” one keeper, a father of two children explained for The Dodo. 

“It felt very similar as to when they were babies, waking up at all hours to feed and change them. They [baby elephants] also call out in the night, especially the very young ones. They are very restless as well, just like human babies, and wake up often. Sometimes they are crying for milk — you have to wake up for them just like a mother with a newborn baby.” In order to grow up properly, the baby elephants need to be fed every three hours, including the night. But that doesn’t seem to bother their caretakers! “It’s like their minds are set to wake up every three hours,” another keeper said. “Every three hours, you feel a trunk reach up and pull your blankets off!” But these kind men are permanently staying next to these gentle innocent and delicate creatures, especially during night, when they also make sure they’re all covered in blankets. “It makes the babies feel very secure,” a keeper explained. “You are like a mom to them and being there enables them to sleep very comfortably. When they sleep comfortably it allows them to grow healthily.”

While on a safari in Kenya’s Masai Mara reserve, the man got the surprise of his life after an adult wild cheetah got too close for comfort. The moment was caught on camera and it is too heart-thumping to watch! David Horsey/ Caters News Mickey McCaldin from Ireland was on a safari trip, when the group of vehicles came across Masai Mara’s most famous cheetah family. 

Everyone was admiring the majestic cats, but some of them got closer than expected. Not bothered at all by the human presence, some of the cheetahs climbed on a vehicle, but one of them was more curious, so he jumped right into the backseat of a car. Even though cheetahs look so cute and they seem pretty friendly, they nothing but fearless predators, so they can be extremely dangerous. Therefore you can guess what your reaction would be, if come face to face with such a wild beast. 

So unsurprisingly, McCaldin, who was sitting there couldn’t find his reactions anymore. The moment was caught on camera by David Horsey, a good friend of McCaldin, who was sitting in front of him. “I’ve been living in Kenya all my life and I’ve never seen anything like this,” Horsey from Mombasa, Kenya told Caters News. 

“He [the cheetah] just wasn’t scared of getting up close and personal. At first Mickey was really relaxed but I think he was quite concerned it might try and sit in his lap. Unlike a domestic cat, you certainly don’t want that.” Though for McCaldin looked like an eternity, the cheetah leaved the vehicle after a few moments. Then, the group of wild cats starred at the tourists from a short distance, before losing their ways in the distance. 

“Once it had got bored of Mickey it turned away and looked out of the vehicle for a few minutes,” the 62-year-old Horsey said. “It just jumped out afterwards.”
