The truth is, 7-year-old Madden from Oklahoma came into this world with a cleft lip and also heterochromia iridum (distinct color eyes), and some considered it could be amusing to tease the kid for his distinctive look. 

Fortunately, he found a way to handle the bullies.

  “Last week, a friend posted an image of the cat in our cleft moms group. This kitty was taken in by a rescue group in Minnesota,” Madden’s mom, Christina Humphreys shared. 

“We knew immediately that this kitty was meant to be part of our family. Not only does he have a cleft lip like our 7-year-old son Madden, he also has complete heterochromia iridum, like Madden. They were destined to be best friends. Funny how a pet can make you feel less alone.” 

 Madden discovering Moon truly appears like a miracle against all probabilities. 

“Heterochromia iridum is when a part of the iris has at least two colors. Complete heterochromia iridum, where the eyes are completely different colors all together, is quite rare, existing in less than 1% of the population, I’m told. That plus the cleft lips is exceptionally rare.” 

  “We’re usually not spontaneous people, but we knew that we were meant to love this kitty. Moon, the kitty, and Madden are the perfect companions for each other. In a word full of bullies and hateful words, we will choose to chase love. I think it’s safe to say that this kitty is love, and was certainly meant to be part of our journey and Madden’s journey.”

 A group of kind men waded out in the frigid waters to carry the ailing wolf to shore, a video posted to YouTube shows. 

As rescuers carry the wolf's limp body up the embankment, it almost seems as though all hope for his survival is lost. Wolf isn't breathing, and they can't find a heartbeat. People surround the wolf, trying to resuscitate him. 

A man stands over Navarre, with his hands over the wolf's heart, trying to get it pumping again. A woman leans close to the wolf to see if there's any sign of breath. She even tries to breathe life back into the wolf's mouth. 

 Watching the footage, the attempt seems hopeless — until a miracle seems to happen: Wolf starts to breathe again. 

Rescuers set to work warming Navarre, putting him under a blanket and drying his fur with a hair dryer, as they transport him to a recovery center. 

Wolf's back legs were paralyzed from the cold. Along with the other strides he needed to make in recovery, he would need to relearn how to walk. His recovery was touch and go, and he had to get a series of tests and treatments. But slowly, Wolf gained strength at the Monte Adone Wildlife Center. 

He even learned to walk again. At the end of the video, Wolf is shown walking on his own and happily enjoying the snow, as he works to gain enough strength to reenter the wild. VIDEO

 But sometimes, deer need our help. Sometimes they get trapped or injured, and need some kind humans to intervene. poster Like one baby fawn, who had just lost his mother when rescuers came along to help.

 On March 29, a person driving on State Road 46 in Mims, Florida spotted a deer on the ground with a young fawn by her side. 

 The driver realized the heartbreaking situation: the mother deer had been killed after being hit by a car, and her fawn was refusing to leave her side.

  While things worked out for this fawn in the end, it’s easy to think of how things could’ve gone differently. 

Deer are often at risk of being hit by cars, making situations like this common. Crystene reminded people to watch out in deer-populated areas: 

“Just watching when you’re driving, obviously pay attention, try to slow down and not hit animals,” she told ClickOrlando. But she also told people not to immediately assume a fawn is orphaned if there’s no mother in sight, as “mothers often leave their young out in the open during the day,” she explained. 

 So how can you tell if an fawn needs help? Look at its ears. “If you see a fawn that’s ears are curled, there is a good chance it’s orphaned,” Crystene said. “Ear curling is a sign of dehydration.” 

 It’s a sad story, but we’re glad that this fawn is okay and on the path to a new life. Thank you to the rescuers who saved him!
