Homeless Kid ‘Adopts’ Stray Dog So He Wouldn’t Be Lonely, Treats Him Like a Brother

Humans are social creatures; most of us can’t live only by ourselves, without friends and family to share our life with.

Sadly, there are those who are forced by circumstances to live on their own, and the only family they can ever have is a pet they ‘adopted’ to ease the loneliness…

Netizen Maria Kabs was just walking along a street near GMA Network Complex in Quezon City when he spotted a kid hugging and playing with his pet dog.

Touched by the special moment she witnessed, she took some photos and interviewed the kid.

It turned out 11-year-old Rommel Quemenales ‘adopted’ the stray puppy he found roaming in the streets.

Feeling lonely that he doesn’t have a family of his own, Rommel treated the dog he named Badgi as his brother.

It is safe to say these two are the best of friends and were quite inseparable. Both were alone and ‘lost’ in the big city but now that they have each other, they now have a ‘family’ to turn to.

“A dog doesn’t care if you are rich or poor. All he knows is that he loves you very much,” Maria wrote.

The kid told Maria that he did have a family once but his parents separated when he was younger and the family just broke apart.

Sometimes, when he has enough money he would visit his sister who lives in San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan but would come back to Quezon City whose streets have become his ‘home’.

Rommel quit school when he was still in Grade 2. He said he misses school and wished to complete his studies one day.

In his current situation, it’s more like wishful thinking now but we still hope someone could help this kid live a better life…
