That was the case for one veteran and his beloved service dog, who have such an unbreakable bond that when it came to his wedding day, he had to have his dog involved in a special way. Justin Lansford is a US Army veteran from Silver Spring, Maryland. In 2012, he was deployed as a paratrooper to Afghanistan and suffered an accident. 

  “We struck an IED and it flipped my truck completely,” Justin told ABC News. “I had bilaterally severed femurs which resulted in the amputation of my left leg.” 

 But while recovering at the hospital, Justin got an opportunity that would change his life. A group called Warrior Canine Connections pairs wounded servicemen with support dogs. 

 Justin was paired with a golden retriever named Gabe.

  Gabe was invaluable in helping Justin readjust after losing his leg. 

  “The less I use my wheelchair, the more I need his help in smaller tasks and the more he is there,” Justin said. “It has been very comforting to know that.” 

  “He helps me with one thing to the next. I can use him as a stable surface to lean on, as I get to and from the ground.

But Gabe did more than just help him around. He quickly proved to be a source of emotional support and friendship. “Since day one, we’ve been joined to the hip,” Justin told the New York Daily News.  “He’s there for me all day, every day.” 

 The dog made a big impact not only on Justin, but on his longtime girlfriend Carol, who worked for Warrior Canine Connections and knew the deep connection they shared. 

  “You have to make sure a support dog is always happy and that they’ll love the person they’re with forever,” Carol told Buzzfeed. 

So when Justin & Carol got married in 2015, it felt only right to have Gabe be part of the ceremony. But while some people have their dogs act as ring bearers or just as guests, Justin wanted his beloved dog by his side on his big day and gave him a position of honor: his best man. 

  “He goes everywhere I go,” Justin told the Daily News. “He’s certainly there to pick me up emotionally when I need it. Why would the wedding be any different?”

The bride certainly had no objections to Justin’s unique choice. “Justin and Gabe go everywhere together and our wedding did not seem like it should be any different of an occasion,” Carol said. 

“It was really cool to have him right by me,” Justin said. “I don’t think there was a dry eye at that point. It was a pretty steady ‘aww’ throughout the entire wedding.”

Your wedding is a very special day, a time when you want to be surrounded by the friends and family who have supported you the most. It seems only natural that Gabe be at the heart of their big day.

Many people are lucky to spot deer running through their yards, while others are familiar with the sounds of coyotes howling at night. If you do happen to come across wildlife outside its habitat, the best thing to do is to notify either a wildlife rehabilitation center, the humane society, animal shelter, or a veterinarian. 

 One family in Adelaide Hills in South Australia got a visit from a koala that wandered into their backyard. The koala slowly came down from a tree and into the fenced-in pool area. 

The camera gets remarkably close to the animal (it looks like it was zoomed in from a distance). Eventually, the koala makes its way to the poolside. But before taking a sip, it studies the water. 

The koala places its hand in the water and observes its movements before deciding what to do next. Fortunately, the water is gentle and nearly still. Shortly after, the woman gets out and she and the koala sit face-to-face. Before we know it, the woman leans her face into the koala’s. Instead of fleeing, the koala meets the woman halfway and their noses touch. 

 The lady even caresses the koala on its nose and its face. Surprisingly, it doesn’t seem frightened at all. Neither does the woman who strokes its fur while it looks around. After their heartwarming interaction, the koala heads up some rocks near the house.

But without a doubt, one of their most striking characteristics, and one that normally tends to be omitted, is their curious and playful spirit. In fact, these adorable animals have been seen on more than one occasion playing in a puddle or in an open field, just as a child would. 

And they have also been seen having fun with structures and toys that are typical of the smallest human beings. In a video shared by ViralHog, 5 cute cubs are seen having the time of their life in the back yard of a family, where they found their mini amusement park. “This was taken in our backyard. Supposedly it’s a mother and five cubs, two of which are suspected to have been adopted from a different litter.” – said one of the people who saw this family of bears. The video was captured by an Asheville family, and it shows a mother bear and her 5 cubs enjoying an afternoon of rest and play in their garden. 

This North Carolina city is known for its large black bear population, with an estimated 100 to 200 bears in an area where there are 90,000 humans. 

So encounters between neighbors and these large, furry animals tend to happen quite often.

Well, at least most of the time. I say this because there are also times when kids, especially toddlers, will pout, stamp their feet, and scream like the end of the world is coming and there is nowhere to hide As a parent, it’s hard to know what to do when this kind of things happen so that you can put an end to the tantrum as soon as possible. 

As it turns out, it’s not only human parents who have to deal with this problem, but animals as well. Just look at the mom elephant in the video below. 

When her baby throws a temper tantrum in the middle of the road, she quickly jumps into action and does what moms do best: she handles the situation! “We waited but after a few minutes of roadside grazing the females and other elephants moved into the roadside bush,” Antonio da Cruz, that witnessed the whole scene, explained. 

“This little guy had been standing in the middle of the road and was determined to stay put. After flaying his legs, head and tail a few times he looked over at his mom and she then called his bluff by moving further away into the bush. He quickly got up, gave us a stare and then chased after her.” The mother elephant doesn’t seem to be too concerned and knows that tantrum will pass a lot sooner if she just keeps her cool. This is a whole new level of cuteness! If this lovely footage wouldn’t bright your day, I’m not sure what ever will!
