A hunter was driving along one night when he saw a button buck with his back leg entangled in the wires of a fence.The poor thing was desperately trying to free himself by forcefully pulling the leg but to no avail. He became especially frightened when he saw the hunter approaching, but when he realized that the hunter was there to help him, he relaxed completely.
The buck’s leg was so entangled that even the hunter had trouble freeing the animal. Fortunately, the baby deer’s leg didn’t suffer too much damage so he was able to run back to freedom!

A French physicist has won an Ig Nobel Prize for using mathematical formulas to determine whether cats are liquid or solid.
The Ig Nobel prizes are awarded every year by Improbable Research, an organization devoted to science and humor. The goal is to highlight scientific studies that first make people laugh, then think.
A ceremony is held every year at Harvard University.
Marc-Antoine Fardin was awarded the Ig Nobel Prize in physics for his research paper on the rheology of cats.
"At the center of the definition of a liquid is an action: A material must be able to modify its form to fit within a container," Fardin said.
"If we take cats as our example, the fact is that they can adapt their shape to their container if we give them enough time. Cats are thus liquid if we give them the time to become liquid."
In his official research paper, Fardin discusses many factors including relaxation time, experimental time, the type of container, and the cat's degree of stress.
The conclusion? Cats can be either liquid or solid, depending on the circumstances, Fardin reported in the Rheology Bulletin in 2014.

Bravery is a very noble trait to have because it means you are selfless and heroic. This definition perfectly defined Smudge, the tabby cat. When Ethan Fenton, five, and his two-year-old brother Ashton were getting bullied, Smudge came to the rescue. One day while the two boys were playing outside, a bunch of taller and bigger boys started to shove and tease the kids. Sarah, the mother of the two adorable boys witnessed the whole situation unfold:
“I was keeping an eye on the boys who were playing football in the front garden. Three boys who were much taller and older than Ethan walked over to our front gate. I heard them shout Ethan’s name twice but he ignored them and just put his head back down and kept playing with Ashton."
She also said: "But then they shouted him again and then one of the boys got in Ethan’s face and said, ‘Oi! Why are you ignoring me?’ and pushed him over. That’s when I rushed outside and saw Smudge fly out from under our car and jump on the boy’s chest. I think it was shock more than anything but the boy stumbled backwards, burst into tears and then ran off.”
Smudge has been a blessing in disguise for this family. When their family cat of many years passed, they were devasted, but then they bought Smudge. He truly cheered up the family. His recent heroic act also makes him feel even more like family than ever. Sarah adds,
“I actually feel so much safer knowing Smudge is around after seeing him defend him like that. He is a big part of the family and he is more of a brother to the boys than a cat. He has never done anything like that before but it was absolutely brilliant seeing him look out for Ethan like that.”

Owner Got A Cat In 1988, Probably Did Not Expect To Throw Him A Birthday Party 30 Years Later
Rubble the cat from Exeter, England, is now regarded as the ‘oldest cat alive’ by reaching his 30th birthday. It was back in May 1988 that Rubble met his owner, Michele Foster, and the two have been best friends since then.Rubble’s longevity is no dumb luck. Michele pampered him as if he were her child. Never had any children of her own, Michele devoted time, effort, and affection to the big guy. “He’s a lovely cat, although he has got a little grumpy in his old age,” she said. “He has plenty of life left in him yet, but I don’t think we will go down the Guinness World Record route as I am not sure he would like lots of people coming to see him or a fuss being made out of him. He is old now and would not like too much attention or be hassled. We would prefer if he was just left to live out his old age in peace.”
The memory of their first meet on her 20th birthday lingers on Michele to this day. “He was part of a litter of cats that my sister’s friend had, and I had just left home,” she explained. “I was lonely living on my own so got him in as a kitten. He is very loyal. We used to live in London and moved around a lot.”
“If you care about something and someone and really love them, that goes a long way. I have always treated him like a child – I don’t have any children and had another cat called Meg – who passed at the age of 25. If you care about something, no matter what it is, it does last.”
But no one escapes the illness of the old, Rubble suffers from high blood pressure due to his advanced age. He requires regular medication, which he gets from Shaun Moore of City Vets. “We recently had this amazing cat in for a check up and to celebrate his 30th birthday,” he said. “Rubble is quite likely to be the oldest cat in the UK and is still going strong. He is on medication for his blood pressure but apart from that, he is in remarkably good health.”
“He enjoyed a free check up, some Whiskas Catmilk and Felix pouches, and less appreciated a free supply of medication for the next month as his birthday present from City Vets.”

Two commercial fisherman in Morro Bay, California, saved a humpback whale's life after noticing the majestic animal was in distress. Nicholas Taron and Sam Synstelien were headed back to shore after a day of work when they noticed a humpback whale tangled in rope."The whale was just swimming in counter-clockwise circles," Taron told KNTV. "You could tell he was stressed and being held to the bottom."
They reported the distressed whale to the Coast Guard, who told them they wouldn't be able to respond for hours. So Taron and Synstelien took matters into their own hands. Synstelien mustered up the courage to jump onto the whale's back and cut the rope.
Taron caught the whole rescue on video and posted it on Instagram:
"You are HEROES!!!" dulembadraws wrote on Instagram.
"Love saves the day!" another wrote.
"OMGOODNESS Sam!! Your so brave hats off to you for saving this beautiful creature," wrote another.
For years, scientists have been searching for environmentally friendly alternatives to fossil fuels. Corn has been converted into ethanol, algae has been turned into biohydrogen, and vegetable and animal fats have been transformed into biodiesel. But nothing has really made a dent in the dominance of coal and oil. Now, a company in Spain called Ingelia is leveraging waste to make perhaps the most sustainable alternative fuel yet, according to Business Insider.
Ingelia develops biochar through a process called thermochemical conversion that first heats waste to high temperatures so that it dehydrates. Next, the company siphons off the humid matter of substances like carbon, nitrogen, sulfur, and chlorine.
The ensuing product is a block known as “biochar” that can be burned in the same way as coal.
Globally, 11.2 billion tons of solid waste are collected by countries each year and solid waste production is expected to increase by 70% in cities by 2050.
In low-income countries, meanwhile, more than 90% of solid waste is dumped in unregulated areas or burned in the open. Both methods can severely pollute the environment.
Further, many countries have inadequate systems for handling sewage, causing human waste to flow into rivers and contaminate drinking water supplies.
Funally, company's CEO admitted that "With our process, by 2022 we'd be able to replace 220,000 tons of coal per year and avoid the emission of half a million tons of CO2 into the atmosphere."

Each morning at Ape Action Africa’s Mefou Primate Sanctuary, caregivers check-in on the animals to see how they’re doing. And there are a lot of animals to check. The sanctuary cares for over 300 rescued animals. In August, the caregivers had gone to check up on the gorillas. A silverback gorilla named Bobo had found something out of the ordinary. Bobo, western lowland gorilla had arrived at the sanctuary in 1994. Sadly, his mother was killed by poachers and he was left vulnerable in the wild. Bobo had only been 2-years old. Now, over two decades later, he is a pack leader at the sanctuary in Cameroon.
Though he is an alpha-male, Bobo shows he can be a gentle giant of his forest domain. The morning carers went to look in on the gorillas, they couldn’t believe their eyes. Bobo had made a new friend in a tiny creature he found in the forest. They watched on as Bobo bonds with a bush baby that he found. He cradles the creature in his hand, clearly showing he wants to keep this adorable little creature safe.
“Our silverback gorilla Bobo made a surprising new friend this week — a wild bush baby! Caregivers discovered him cradling the tiny primate during their morning checks. They were amazed to see him handling it with the utmost care.”
According to Elissa O’Sullivan, the bush baby most likely lived somewhere inside the gorilla’s enclosure. “The bush baby showed no fear of Bobo — moving around his body and spending time hopping around in an open grassy area, before choosing to return to Bobo.”
Soon, the other gorilla’s became more curious, wanting to meet Bobo’s new friend. “Bobo’s group-mates were desperately curious, particularly his favourite female Avishag. But he kept them all at a distance, making sure that no one disturbed his new friend.” O’Sullivan stated.
The sanctuary says, “Bush babies are usually nocturnal. So it is very rare to see one, and even rarer to witness this kind of interaction. The little bushbaby was happy to play in Bobo’s arms. Hopping off to explore the grass nearby, before returning to Bobo’s hand.”
Bobo and the bush baby played and bonded together for almost 2 hours. When they were done playing, Bobo – moving on two legs like a human – put his tiny friend back in the forest. The amazing, gentle giant that is Bobo proves that there really is kindness in the world. Watch how he interacts with this adorable little creature below!

Snickers (aka Stinkers) the Porcupine loves to play and get attention. The large, quill-covered animal lives at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, which adopted Snickers after someone had been keeping him as a pet. Because of his gregarious, friendly nature and love for human contact, he is a permanent resident at the Center. Watch as one of his caregiver’s gives the affectionate porcupine pets, hugs and belly rubs!

A group of surfers came to the aid of a baby pilot whale, after the animal became stuck in the mouth of a river at a beach in Costa Rica during low tide. Mauricio Camareno, one of the surfers, said they noticed a “black lump” and heard cries of distress.
When they investigated, they found the baby animal around 200 feet up the river and struggling to breath.
“She was very weak and could not keep afloat,” Camareno told Amelia Rueda. The men jumped into the water to hold the baby up so that she wouldn’t drown.
Although they called the Coast Guard and environmental ministry to report the stranded whale, neither agency responded to the scene.
After holding her up for more than six hours, the group of surfers noticed she had regained her strength.
With high tide, the surfers brought her out to deeper waters. After several attempts, she swam away, hopefully to be reunited with her pod.
The men’s rescue has earned them accolades across social media. One person wrote, “What brilliant human beings you are!
Thank you so much for saving this wonderful creature, whose intelligence is perhaps just as high as ours or maybe even higher.”

Scarlette Tipton, 2 years old, was born with a rare form of cancer, she lost her left arm because of the disease. Doc, the kitten, was only three months old when she suffered a ‘catastrophic’ injury to one of her front legs, and it was amputated. As fate would have it, Scarlette and Doc were going to meet and become BFFs!
Scarlette noticed the staples on the kitten and seemed to understand that she had a lot in common with the tiny kitten. The two share a special bond that most of us will never understand. Watch the video below, prepare yourself, it may make you tear up a little!
What we can understand is the love they share and how important it is that they have each other. They will be able to grow up together and have each other for a very long time.
