Barber shaves off his own head in solidarity with a cancer patient in incredibly touching video

Losing their hair to cancer can sometimes be a debilitating experience for women as societal beauty standards attach a lot of importance to a woman's hair.

Having to shave it off can also be a reminder of everything the illness has taken from them and their exhausting battle to survive. In such situations, any support can help make them feel better.

One barber went above and beyond for his client who has cancer when he shaved off his own hair in solidarity as she went through the heartbreaking process of going bald.

A viral video of his kind act won the praise of many on social media. The short clip begins with the woman sobbing uncontrollably as the barber uses a trimmer to shave off her head.

Once the work was done, the barber pulled the woman into a sweet embrace and then proceeded to shave off his own hair. The woman paused for a second, clearly stunned, and asked the barber to stop. She then puts her hand on her head while he held her in the embrace as she cried.

The video caption read: "An unusual request for a barbershop, but undeniable. Nubia came to us very shy, embarrassed, and unable to say what was going on. But with a lot of conversation, she opened her heart and told us about the difficulty she was going through with CANCER.

At first, we were astonished, with no reaction, such news is always very difficult to hear, but we welcomed her and gave her much more strength because we were sure that she would win this battle of life."

The post continued, "And so, we did, we set the day, we left everything ready to receive it. There was no other way, I would have to cut all the hair that was already starting to fall out due to the treatment.

We took a deep breath and with eyes full of tears we started to cut her hair, I remember always giving support and affection, saying that it was just a phase and that soon, it would grow again, because she would beat Cancer!

In the end, I hugged her with great certainty in my heart and started to cut mine too, in the form of affection, to give her support and strength so she wouldn't give up. And with a lot of willpower Nubia WON! Today she is HEALED."

The same video was shared on Twitter where it gained over 270K views and some really heartwarming comments. "Even the small gestures were tear-jerker for sure also besides the point but I wanted to focus on the fact that he still did a wonderful cleanup with one hand while applying a light rear naked. I know I’d either cut myself or it would look a mess if I did it," commented @sports_takes32.

"That guy embodies what’s the right thing to do. Bless his heart and his customers too. May she have a full recovery. She’ll be in our thoughts and prayers," wrote @charliehenslee.

"It’s the way he holds her and comforts her that does it for me. Truly beautiful," penned @CeceMcClean.

Nobody can understand the pain that a cancer patient goes through during the whole ordeal. In the aftermath of the diagnosis, support from family, friends and peers is of utmost importance.

The feeling of love and understanding acts as a motivator to ensure a positive clinical outcome. The family provides emotional security, reassurance and care. Friends provide companionship, shared values and interests that are dear to us.

All these things collectively provide resources to help cope with crippling anxiety and stress. With that, it is important to remember that you are not alone and that there is always someone out there for you.

Boy left with 90 stitches after risking own life to save sister from dog attack

A six-year-old boy from Wyoming in the US has been mauled by a dog as he risked his life to save his younger sister.

Bridger Walker bravely stepped in when the dog began charging at his sister on July 9, according to an Instagram post by his aunty.

The little boy was bitten several times on the head and face as he took on the animal. He was able to grab his sister’s hand and lead her safely away from danger.

But the attack has left him with several wounds, the most prominent on his face, which required 90 stitches.

Bridger said he was willing to give up his own life to save his sister. “If someone had to die, I thought it should be me,” Bridger said, according to the Instagram post.

The young boy’s selfless act has gone viral. Almost 100, 000 people have liked one of the posts on his Aunty, Nicole Walker’s, Instagram page.

The six-year-old is now recovering at home and is in good spirits. “I just finished visiting with Bridger at his home,” Nicole’s post read.

“His wounds are looking so much better! He’s in great spirits, and his awesome personality is intact.

“He can’t smile too widely yet, but he was grinning as I read some of your comments to him. Amazingly, Bridger and his family feel no animosity towards the dog or its owners. I’d also like to mention here that the dog’s owners are really great people who have been nothing but kind to Bridger and his family,” the post read.

“We feel no resentment toward them at all, and if anything there’s only been an increase of love between our families as a result of this incident.”

Bridger’s aunty thanked the public for their overwhelming support for the young boy. “Once again, everyone’s kindness has meant so much to us,” the post added.“I’m trying to get to all of the messages that I can, but it may take some time.”

Some people are even inquiring if there is a GoFundMe page for Bridger. But the family says anyone willing to donate should instead give to military veteran groups Wounded Warrior Project and Mission 22.

One request the family did have was for people to send in photos of rocks, as Bridger loves geology. “Bridger is also a huge fan of science, especially geology,” the post states. “So, I’m going to start a post where people can share with him pictures of cool rocks that they see.”

Woman takes 18 disabled dogs to the beach for their very 1st time

One of the things we always do in life is to look for more and forget to appreciate what it really is. That is our essence.

Instead of being grateful for what we have, we grieve and sometimes we also become discouraged by envy of another’s life.

This is one of the worst things a person can do when comparing their life with that of others. On the other hand, those who are most grateful tend to be the ones who have the least things to be grateful for.

This is a way of life. A few years ago, a survey was conducted of African children who were happier than the developed parts of the world.

Although there is not much in life, children enjoy and are grateful for every three meals a day, the basic needs of it when other children have games and many things. The same thing happens with dogs as well.

Many dogs that live with their owners may not be as happy as the stray dogs that live together or in the event that we have disabled dogs here.

There are so many disabled dogs out there and the fact that many of them here are enjoying something that might be completely normal and part of another dog’s daily routine is amazing, this group of disabled dogs couldn’t be happier running around on the beach.

For the first time, Salima Kadaoui decided to take 18 dogs out of the SFT Animal Sanctuary that she founded in Tangier, Morocco, for a day trip.

The precious little dogs take their first steps in the sand and run through the surf that hits the bank. In doing so, they completely forget that they have wheelchairs. Salima said, “Dogs loved the beach.

Well we can all learn something from this video. Amazing friends how dogs can be, they are great teachers to all of us too.

For me personally, someone who can watch a lot of dog videos on a daily basis, I learn a lot from them and onething I learned from this particular video is the fact that happiness comes from even the smallest things in life.

I really hope this video will inspire other people out there and disabled people in particular who believe that there is no hope for them in life. So please share it with friends.

Dragon’s Blood tree – Socotra island

Dracaena cinnabari, the Socotra dragon tree, or dragon blood tree, is a unique tree that is one of the most peculiar trees in the world.

The tree has a distinctive external shape that makes it look like a huge umbrella, as the leaves grow only at the end of branches and point upwards.

It has many branches; it grows by dichotomy, which means that each branch is divided into two until the leaves finally grow on the branches' ends. It produces a lot of green leaves that are renewed every three or four years; they fall and other leaves grow in their place.

The dragon blood tree is a rare plant categorized under the dracaena genus of the Asparagaceae family. It grows in rocky grounds and on high locations, where it preserves water for many years; it is drought-tolerant and can adapt to arid conditions in which there is less water and soil.

The dragon blood tree dates back to over 50 million years; it first appeared in the Mediterranean. It can now be found in a nature reserve containing 360 species of endangered plants and animals in Socotra, Yemen. It can also be found on Mount Dhofar in Oman, and in some subtropical forests.

What makes this tree stand out among other trees in the world is that it bleeds when it is truncated; the bloody liquid is a type of red resin that has no smell or taste.

This resin is of great importance, as it contains an effective substance known as draco, which has multiple medical uses and is part of the pharmaceutical industry to treat some health problems, such as:

treating wounds and burns, as it works on clotting the blood and healing wounds quickly;

treating infections and skin ulceration; treating digestive system problems and stomach ulcerations. stops internal bleeding anywhere in the body;

is also applied as an antiseptic and astringent gum, and in the manufacture of toothpastes.

Darco is used in some other industries, including wool dyeing, making ink and varnish, marble dyeing, coloring pottery, lipstick industry, among multiple other industries and uses.

This tree produces red honey that is one of the most expensive honey types in the world that has many health benefits; the roots are also used in some treatments including rheumatism.

Moreover, the tree's wood is used in some industries, including bee cells industry; as for the leaves, they are used in making rope.

We must also not forget its importance as a giant umbrella; many endangered animals live under its shadow to protect them from harmful sunrays.

The tree is also known as the “Brothers Blood Tree”, in reference to the story of Cain and Abel, in which the first murder on Earth took place.

In a Yemeni legend, it is said that Cain and Abel were the first to live on the Socotra Island; when Cain killed his brother, Abel, his blood was the reason the brothers blood tree (Dragon blood tree) grew.

These dogs in Alaska take the 'puppy bus' like humans and we just can't get enough of it

Dogs are often seen as badly behaved and spoilt brats but what if they begin to behave exactly like humans - taking a bus and sitting on their assigned seats to reach a particular destination?

It's just adorable to watch them. Amaru, a 5-year-old awaits the bus each day looking in the direction of where it comes from.

Gary Hisman, his dad said, “He got used to sitting in that spot. He even looks in the direction he knows they’re going to come." "He's a very smart guy," as reported by The Washington Post.

Amaru along with his 40 friends are part of a playgroup that is carried out by Mo Mountain Mutts. They have a local dog walking and training business.

These are conducted by a couple, Mo and Lee Thompson. They have off-leash pack walks thrice a day. But what people on social media enjoy the most is how they pick up their canines on a bus.

Much thought is given to which dog will sit where. Mo said, “Specific areas of the bus are better suited to the dogs.” She added that the senior dogs are given seats closer to the front whereas the rowdier youngsters are given the "licky puppy corner" as they keep licking each other during the journey.

Once the dogs board the bus, they also have a small obedience drill and she gives out treats to the ones who are well-behaved.

Mo and Lee have a huge following on social media, they keep posting bits of their bus rides and walks. Mo said, “I originally started posting on social media for my clients.”

Now, most of the followers love to see how the dogs get onto the bus and sit on their assigned seats. A Tiktok user commented, "I love how excited they are to see each other I would die of excitement to be on that bus ”

Another user wrote, “This warmed my heart in the best way, and when they said hi to they friends I almost cried."

The couple, Mo and Lee, had never thought of starting a dog-walking company in Alaska. They are from Michigan and had come to Alaska for a summer and they ended up staying. Mo was working as a bartender, server, and hostess at a restaurant and her husband was a special education paraprofessional and also a server at the same restaurant.

He later became an athletic director. It all started with Mo and her co-worker taking each other's dogs for walking. Slowly, people began to know of Mo's dog walking services and many wanted to opt for it. “I just started picking up dogs slowly, to the point where I needed to make a second group,” said Mo.

She left her job at the restaurant in 2016. Her husband joined her when he lost his job due to covid in 2021. Their business started growing and Lee took up the Mo Mountain Mutts as his primary job also.

Now, they divide and do their job. Mo does the morning walks and Lee takes care of the afternoon trails. They also provide training, solo walks, socialization lessons, and other services.

For the Thompsons, their work with the dogs seems too good to be true for them and the online following is an added bonus. “It’s the dream,” said Mo. “I can’t believe this is what we do for a living.”

Young boy risks life to protect younger siblings from vicious dog attack

A 12-year-old boy is being hailed a hero after he stopped two vicious dogs from attacking his siblings and then got mauled himself. Sixth-grader Deacon Ashmore was walking with his two little sisters and brother in their Detroit neighborhood when two dogs came running toward them out of nowhere.

Deacon didn’t hesitate to get in front of his siblings as the dogs came bounding toward them. The two vicious dogs lunged at his two sisters, age 9 and 7, and his 5-year-old brother as well as other children who were playing outside at the time.

As Deacon stood in the way of the dogs his siblings had a chance to run away, but in doing so Deacon was attacked by the dogs. His mother, Elisabeth Ashmore, said he “jumped in front of all the other kids and made sure they could run home really fast before the dogs got them,” as per MSN News.

One of the dogs clamped his jaws around Deacon’s leg and the heroic youngster kept hitting him until he let go.

Mom Elisabeth said her son’s leg was so badly mauled that his bone was visible and there was a lot of blood but thankfully no broken bones.

“The biggest concern was that there was no ligament or tendon damage…I mean your Achilles is right there…maybe a couple of centimeters this way or the other and it could have been real dicey,” his dad told Fox 2 News, Detroit.

Deacon was rushed to hospital where he received tetanus and rabies shots and surgeons worked to repair the damage he suffered from the dog bite. He was kept there overnight and was released the following day. He was expected to spend the following few weeks on crutches.

More than $25,000 was raised to help the family pay their son’s medical bills following the horrific attack last May.

Meanwhile, his dad said all their son, who they adopted from Ethiopia as a baby, cared about was whether his siblings made it back home safely.

I hope the owner of these dogs was found and dealt with immediately. Too many children are attacked by dogs getting loose.

I wonder if their owners are responsible enough to keep them. Help us honor this heroic youngster who never gave a thought for himself when those dogs came running toward him and share this story.
