It's impossible not to smile while this horse bugs the reporter for some affection.


Thankfully, the reporter is a good sport and isn't afraid of the large, outgoing animal. In fact, he tells the cameraman excitedly, "I want this footage!" His silly interaction with Frankie is something he'll want to giggle over for years to come!

Even when Frankie begins to nibble his ear, the reporter keeps calm and quickly moves out of the way! He's not going to lose an ear today!

This type of neutral reaction to Frankie's playful nature is perfect. Horse Channel explains that interacting with a horse is all about monitoring your own mental state and remaining calm:

"Horses can read people like a book. Become conscious of your body language, expression and intention so you can teach your horse to read your actions and intentions and to know whether or not he should be worried. 

A horse needs a leader - calm, controlled, focused. It is up to us to learn how to become this kind of leader for our horse and even more importantly, how to be his teacher. Then we can teach our horse to become our partner."

Frankie is set on pestering the reporter, but the reporter is able to stay relaxed and lets him play as much as he's like! It's clear nothing can get to this man!

Craig noticed that the owl’s foot was entangled in a heap of fishing wire and knew that he had to work fast. But he also had to proceed carefully and use extreme caution.


The Lost Creek Country Club in Austin, Texas, posted the rescue online and praised Craig for his bravery. Numerous people chimed in, thanking him for what he did.

“The owl had been sitting in that location all night and into the day, when two of our employees, Devin and Dora, realized the owl was caught on fishing line. No wildlife rescue professionals were available, so Craig saved the day. Lost Creek Country Club cares about wildlife, and we are so thankful this owl was saved! Great job, Craig!”

Instead of waiting hours until the rescuers were finally available, Craig plunged into the chilly golf course pond and worked tirelessly until the owl was freed. People around the world are applauded Craig for his efforts in saving the wild creature.

According to Nature.org, the Great Horned Owl is not a bird to be messed with. The website explains that both young and old owls are not afraid to attack when they feel threatened!


Fortunately for Craig, this nervous Great Horned Owl opted not to attack. It intrinsically knew that it’s life was at stake.

But instead of trying to flap its wings or using its sharp talons, the owl waited patiently as Craig did his best to free him. It almost seems as though this intelligent bird knew that Craig wasn’t going to harm him and that he was in good hands. 

The owl sensed that it had to be patient and wait on this human to save it.


The world needs more people like Craig, those who know how important it is to protect our wildlife and take care of animals just as we would humans. 

People also need to be cognizant of the environment and those who live in it.

Photographer Ruaridh Connellan rushed across the flood water, which was fortunately not dangerously deep, and untied the dog, who wagged her tail and bounded of to safer ground.

Her name now? Lucky – although she still needs a bit more luck to come her way. Lucky was left tied up by her owners on the land where they had been living in a trailer just outside Victoria.

They seemed to have fled, as did all their neighbors.

Before: A terrified dog was spotted by DailyMail.com photographer Ruaraidh Connellan as record-breaking flood waters rose around her just outside of Victoria. Almost safe: Connellan made his way across the flood water to help rescue the dog, who was tethered to the pole.

Whether by accident or design, they left her tied to a post on a leash, where our photographer and reporter her found her on Saturday afternoon.

She was happy to be free and led DailyMail.com to her friends: another dog, a pit bull cross breed, two cats and a small pony.

My hero: Connellan named the dog Lucky. And when he went back 24 hours after saving her she ran up to him and wanted to play. When Connellan visited the property the next day, Lucky ran out and greeted him while wagging her tail. He brought the pup food and fresh water.

The pit bull cross was also tied up, but on a longer leach and on the dry land; suggesting that Lucky being tied up in a more dangerous spot may well have been an accident of panicked people fleeing from danger.

Connellan said he couldn’t sleep that night wondering if the pet pooch was OK. And the next day DailyMail.com returned to the trailer.

Just look at her now. Connellan spent the night worrying about Lucky, but when he returned she seemed to be in good spirits



‘I was happy to see Lucky when I pulled up to the property, she came running out through the fence and greeted and me wagging her tail,’ Connellan said.

‘I fed Lucky some food I had in my car and gave her some fresh water.’

Lucky and the other animals appeared frightened but otherwise safe, for now.

Connellan called the local animal control agency to report the abandoned animals and plans on adopting Lucky if possible. But the authorities are understandably overwhelmed by the scale of the unfolding disaster.

So far DailyMail.com has been unable to trace who was living at the trailer before they left Lucky tied up. She and the other animals had been well-looked after before they left, but they need human attention soon.

Connellan would be happy to step into the breach, after forming a bond with the energetic mongrel.

Lucky’s friend, a pit bull mix, was also found tied up on higher ground. He had more freedom to roam around dry land but not enough – so DailyMail.com set him free too

‘I’d love to take Lucky to live with me in New York. But sadly I’ll have to wait and go through the proper channels.

‘I’m disappointed in people who abandon their animals. I feel good about what I did. There is no doubt in my mind, if I didn’t unleash Lucky from the tree, she would have drowned.’

However, the sight of a baby deer will melt even the coldest of hearts and make any angry gardener forget about all the bad-deer behavior they’ve experienced.

After all, if you’ve seen Bambi, or are acquainted with this baby deer who uses a family’s pool to cool down, you probably have a soft spot for these pretty woodland creatures. The reality is, a spotted fawn is one of the cutest critters around. But what’s sweeter than a baby deer? Three!

That’s exactly what one woman discovered in her living room, after leaving her back door open while battening down the hatches for an oncoming storm. Scroll through to learn more.

An Imgur user who goes by Amscolie shared her story after accidentally leaving her back door open as a storm brewed outside.

She went outside to check on the deer she typically cares for, but couldn’t find them anywhere. Turns out, they may have been one or two steps ahead of her.

Animals have been known to have superior weather-detecting capabilities — far better than humans, according to AccuWeather.

We don’t know exactly how they do it, but they may sense changes in air pressure, or hear sounds at a frequency beyond what human ears are capable of.

That’s why dogs, horses, and birds tend to kick up a fuss before a big thunderstorm or other major weather event; they know something is happening.

Three fawns snuck into her house without her noticing, thanks to the ajar back door. Humans aren’t the only ones who try to seek shelter from a storm, and these baby deer seem to be wise beyond their years.

While she was out looking to bring them somewhere safe, the deer had already come up with a pretty solid game plan.

Amscolie explains, I raise orphaned wildlife. Recently, the back door was open as a storm was coming. The deer were nowhere to be found. Went inside, was heading to the front door, only to see them next to an end table in the living room. Told them they could sleep in the house for the night because it was going to be nasty.

Any pet owner or animal mom would be worried if she couldn’t locate her animals before bad weather, but luckily, these deer knew exactly what they needed to do.

It was a happy ending to a scary situation. Instead of worrying that the babies were lost, out in a storm by themselves, they got to snuggle in and have a cozy night away from the bad weather.
