No matter who you are, saying goodbye to a beloved pet can be one of the most difficult things to do. Now, NFL superstar Jason Kelce and his wife Kyle are mourning the death of their dog Winnie, and fans are grieving with them. In an Instagram post today, Kylie announced that their beloved Irish Wolfhound, Winnie, had died. “I lost part of my soul today, but I know she is at peace,” Kyle wrote on Instagram.
“When I was in high school I had a folder on my desktop labeled ‘Gods gift to earth’. It was images of Irish [Wolfhounds] that I had collected from Google,” she wrote.
“I had fallen in love with the breed when I was a young and never let my fascination with them fade. It all lead me to Winnie and holy sh** did she live up to the hype. She was everything I had hoped for in a wolfie and more.”
“I love you, Winn. You will always be my first born child.”
Kylie and Jason were doting dog parents to Winnie throughout her life. Photos in the Instagram post show them with the dog over the years — including the couple’s 2018 wedding, where Winnie was their “flower girl.”
“”Happy Father’s Day to the best doggy dad out there, the post read. “He’s always good for a cuddle (and a paw hold).”
“🥺🥺 You [gave] Winn an amazing life Ky!!” he wrote in the comments.
Rest in peace to sweet Winnie, who brought so much joy to the lives of Jason and Kylie 💔😢 Our hearts are with them during this difficult time.

There’s so much to love about taking a ride on a boat. One of the perks is feeling more in touch with the surrounding nature. But when two friends in Florida decided to adventure out into nearby water, they never would have guessed they’d get this close to nature!

In Springfield, Illinois, Xander Mellor, a diligent 6-year-old, devoted 18 months to saving money with a special goal in mind: purchasing a puppy. Each time Natalie Ellenburg returned from her job, he courteously inquired if she had any spare change, which he would then carefully add to his accumulating funds in his savings jar.

A reptile store in Pennsylvania shared photos of a newborn baby chameleon curled tightly in an egg-shaped ball. For those who have seen hatchling reptiles, they might find it rather unusual to see one that looks like this. As it turned out, the newborn reptile had trouble breaking out of its shell. So, they have to delicately help him out of the egg. Not realizing he was already out of the egg, the seconds-old hatchling stayed curled thinking he was still in his shell. With his tail tucked over his shoulder, the photos gave us a rare insight into the life of a developing reptile.

St. Lucia might not seem like a hippo hotspot, but the small town is home to the largest population of hippos in South Africa. Not to be confused with the Caribbean island bearing the same name, St. Lucia, South Africa, is better for safaris than swimming.
