The bus driver explained that he saw an unexpected package at a bus stop. The team then drove to the scene to see the box in question. The package was sitting just by the metal benches. The play was empty and dark and you could only imagine how someone would feel if they were left in a similar place. Then, a head pops out from the box. It was a black puppy that must’ve heard the rescuers’ vehicle. Then there’s another puppy that peeked out. This one, meanwhile, was white. 

The rescuers quickly investigated the puppies. While they were briefed by the bus driver about the situation, no one really knew how long the puppies had been sitting out there in the cold.

The puppy pad that lined the bottom of the box also suggests that the act was deliberate. Upon further investigation, the rescuers confirmed that both puppies were female – just like their first suspicion. 

According to them, female puppies are abandoned more often because it’s more expensive to spay them. Fortunately, the two puppies still seemed to be in good spirits. Their fur is matted with a mix of debris and dirt. They weren’t emaciated, however, and they were very curious and friendly. The puppies were then given their new names. The black one was named Mia, and the white puppy was named Leya. Their rehabilitation started immediately upon rescue. First, the puppies were given some water and food. They ate with so much gusto that the rescuers thought they must’ve not eaten for days. They were also given their first bath but regular shampoo just wouldn’t do the job. They were then taken to a grooming salon to get them cleaned thoroughly. 

The puppies looked so different after the bath! They look like they’ve been loved and taken care of for a very long time and it was the life that their rescuers envisioned for them. As if the total makeover wasn’t enough, the rescuers even bought Mia and Leya some toys. They said these must be the first toys they enjoyed in their lives. Now, the rescuers hope that the puppies get their forever homes. 

They are asking viewers from around the world for donations. Proceeds will go to rescue resources such as food, water, medicine, and other fees needed to give these dogs a second lease on life.

Lana was abandoned and left to fend for herself on the unforgiving streets. For her, every day was a fight for survival, a relentless cycle of hunger, fear, and isolation. She shared her meager meals with fellow strays, forming an unspoken bond with those who understood her plight. But then, Lana’s luck turned. Volunteers from a local shelter found Lana and took her away from the harsh life she was becoming accustomed to. They were determined to find her a home where she felt safe and loved. Lana was a sweet dog despite living life on the streets. 

A family with a baby met Lana and decided to adopt her. Upon bringing Lana home, however, the sweet dog’s demeanor changed. When her mom nursed her human baby sister, she began to growl. In fear for their safety, they felt they had no other choice but to return her to the shelter. Lana was put in the same shelter kennel, looking defeated. The staff had no choice but to put her on the euthanasia list because of her aggressive behavior. But then, fate intervened again. A family experienced in dog training stepped forward, willing to foster Lana and work on her behavioral problems. The family believed that with proper training and patience, Lana could change. But after a short period of time, they too gave up and brought Lana back to the shelter, claiming she didn’t get along with their other pets and she resisted being touched by her new humans. 

Her photos continued to circulate the internet, and applications came pouring in. But the shelter staff was understandably concerned that she would be adopted once again and then returned. They screened the potential adopters, praying they would find her perfect fit. Thankfully, during the screening process, Lana was removed from the euthanasia list. She eventually found her forever home, where she is now living happily as the only pet, without children. While dogs like Lana are challenging to place, her story is proof that ALL dogs, no matter their behavioral issues, deserve a second chance!

According to KTVU, there were 30-40 reported sightings. While there were no incidents of the wolfdog being aggressive, authorities did not know what threat the animal posed and didn’t know if it had an owner.

  The Sebastopol Police Department put out an alert, along with a photo of the hybrid walking down the highway, urging people to contact law enforcement but not approach the animal. 

Through social media, authorities learned that the wolfdog was not a stray but belonged to an owner from Santa Rosa; the escaped wolfdog’s name is “Shadow.” 

The owner joined the effort to capture Shadow and bring him home safe and sound, bringing along his two pet huskies.

  But Shadow was in “flight mode,” and evaded multiple attempts to capture him. Authorities took precautions to look out for his safety: North Bay Animal Services Executive Director Mark Scott told KTVU that they closed down the highway out of fear that the wolfdog would get struck. 

After multiple failed attempts, the owner, an animal care officer and a good samaritan were finally able to corner Shadow on Monday, calming him down enough to get a leash on him. 

Everyone was thrilled by the happy conclusion to the story — most of all Shadow’s owner, who in photos is seen on the ground hugging his wayward pet: “A big shoutout and THANK YOU to the vigilant community members who reported sightings of Shadow,” North Bay Animal Services wrote on Facebook. “Your alertness and cooperation made all the difference in bringing Shadow back to where he belongs.” 

What a happy ending! We’re so glad Shadow is home safe and sound!

  The rangers had been observing the babies, in their den, for three days, hoping their mother would return. As the mother bear didn’t show up, the rangers called the AMP to ask for help. 

The mother had been shot and killed by a hunter. This is against the law in Romania because only the males should be shot. The AMP team went there and took the baby bears to the Victory animal shelter. After the first medical inspection the cubs seem to be healthy but a little bit dehydrated. 

The cubs will be transferred to the Liberty bear sanctuary, in a quarantine area where only the caretaker will have access. The babies will be bottle-fed every two hours, as they need special milk. In the forest, the mother bear can breast feed her cubs for up to two years, so time will show us if they will make it or not. 

They are weakened and so the risk of getting sick is quite high. If the babies will be strong enough to survive, the AMP specialists will assess their chances to return to the forest.

According to FOX 2 Detroit, locals saw the dog wandering the streets and, although she is a female, they called her “Nicholas.” Neighbors reported that the dog became homeless after her owner passed away.

  As the dog’s story spread, a number of local groups — including It Is Pawzable Dog Training, South Lyon Murphy Lost Animal Recovery, Sugar Mutts Dog Grooming, and Almost Home Animal Rescue — came together to trap the dog and get her to safety. “Everybody comes together and works as a team, which is so amazing,” Katrina Weaver, the owner of It Is Pawzable, told FOX 2. 

Thankfully, their rescue mission was a success: Almost Home No Kill Rescue reported on May 3 that the dog had successfully been trapped and was now in their care. They renamed “Nicholas” “Nikki,” because she’s a female dog.

“Only good things from here and onto a better life!” the rescue wrote on Facebook. “Thanks for all your support Nikki will now get to be in a loving home!” There is one complication: Nikki reportedly has heartworm, which will require four weeks of treatment. 

Nikki is now taking it easy, receiving medication and going on leash walks. When she is recovered, the rescue will begin looking for her new home. In the meantime, Nikki is in great hands — and yes, she still has her beloved stuffy with her ❤️

  With the goal of helping Riley enjoy the outdoors once again, the shelter staff patted a little red wagon and placed him inside, pulling him around the grounds. 

As Riley held his head up high, it was clear that this small act of kindness brought as much joy to the staff as it did to him. This was the second chance that Riley desperately needed. Determined to get back on his feet, Riley slowly began to show the will to stand up and walk. 

With encouragement from the shelter staff, he managed to take a few steps at a time, making progress each day. It wasn’t long before Riley was able to stand and walk on his own, surprising everyone with his determination and progress. On one particular day, as a staff member was working, Riley got up, walked outside, and just kept going. Overwhelmed with emotion, the staff member couldn’t help but burst into tears at the sight of Riley’s incredible progress. 

The once-emaciated dog was now on a mission, walking all by himself and showing no signs of stopping. The shelter staff were shocked and overjoyed that Riley had started walking so soon and was able to do as much as he could. 

As word of his remarkable recovery spread, a gentleman came to the shelter to adopt a dog and had been following Riley’s story. Upon meeting him, the two instantly bonded, and it was clear that they were meant to be together. Riley’s incredible journey is a testament to the power of love, determination, and second chances. His story serves as an inspiration to all, reminding us that even in the darkest of times, there is always hope for a brighter future.

  Instead of viewing her as a mere commodity, the farmer saw Helen’s intrinsic value. He spent years nurturing a deep bond with her. He cared for her, ensuring she felt loved and safe. 

However, as time went on, the farmer realized he needed to find a permanent home for Helen, one that would cater to her special needs. Enter Uncle Neil’s sanctuary, a haven for animals like Helen. When the sanctuary learned about Helen’s story, they didn’t hesitate to welcome her. 

For the past five months, Helen has been a cherished resident, bringing joy and warmth to everyone she meets. Adapting to a new environment, especially for a blind cow, wasn’t without its challenges. Initially, Helen was timid, having spent 19 years in a stall without the company of other cows or the freedom to graze. 

The sanctuary team went above and beyond to ensure Helen felt at home. They spoke to her gently, reassuring her of their intentions and showering her with affection. To help Helen navigate her new surroundings, the team implemented several ingenious solutions. They installed a camera to monitor her, placed a solar-powered fountain in her water trough so she could locate it by sound, and hung wind chimes around her pasture. 

These chimes not only guided her back to her resting place but also provided a soothing melody that Helen grew fond of.

One of the most touching moments at the sanctuary occurred when Helen approached a staff member while he was cleaning the pasture. 

In a heart-melting gesture, she began rubbing herself against him, using her head to show affection. This was Helen’s unique way of hugging, a sign that she felt safe, loved, and content in her new home. Life at the sanctuary has been transformative for Helen. She’s made several cow friends, and she’s always eager to show affection, whether it’s to her bovine buddies or the humans who care for her. 

If you’re around Helen, be prepared for a barrage of licks – her signature way of showering love. Helen’s days are filled with simple joys. She spends her time grazing, basking under the wind chimes, and listening to their melodies.

  The zoo announced the birth on August 7, but it wasn't until nine days later that they discovered the existence of a second cub. 

The reason that it took so long to discover the second cub is because the birth was observed by camera only, and newborn pandas are tiny. When the keepers heard squeaks of not one, but two baby pandas, they got suspicious. After the first few days, the two cubs seem to be "developing very well," the zoo reports.   The trash bag was left outside a municipal building on Wednesday July 19, 2023. The baby girl was first taken to the Islamic Hospital but eventually transferred to the Tripoli Government Hospital. 

Photos show she had bruises and scrapes from the ordeal. It is not known at this time how old she is. There are conflicting reports on the matter. Some outlets say she was just born and others claim she was around 4 months old.

  Social media has had a field day with this story. Many have offered to adopt this precious baby girl. Others have weighed in on the dog’s intentions.

  This delicate bird is one of nature’s smallest and a true evolutionary marvel. It’s even the size of a bee, measuring only 5-6 cm long and weighing less than 2g. Their beautiful iridescent plumage, like that of all hummingbirds, distinguishes them from bees. When they fly, it resembles a flying diamond. They are truly breathtaking, and if you get the chance to see them, don’t pass it up. At the estrus season begins in March, males have a green bodies with bright red necks. Females are blue with a black underbelly and a black neck. 

Males glow a vibrant pink/red color from head to the throat and all-around singing and aerial performances are all intended to attract their female counterpart. They lay eggs the size of a coffee bean, about an inch long! However, due to the brilliant plumage, the mother bird will not allow the father to approach the eggs because predators will notice the plumage. Bee hummingbirds, like other hummingbirds, primarily feed on nectar, but will also eat insects and spiders on occasion. 

Hummingbirds are said to visit approximately 1,500 flowers per day, benefiting the ecosystem by promoting plant reproduction. However, they do not migrate from their native Cuba and are content with subtropical temperatures. The bee hummingbird is currently listed as near threatened, which means its population is declining. It’s a shame for this lovely bird; let’s work together to protect the environment for these wonderful creatures!

“We look out the window and sure enough there he is: just kind of like right on the other side of our porch, closer to the tree line just eating away on the bushes,” Abbey recalled to WKRN. The sight of the large, completely-white deer was stunning, and Abbey said it was like something out of a Christmas movie. The couple got photos and video of the extraordinary animal before it ran off.

  A white deer, sometimes called a “ghost of the forest,” is a very rare sight. This deer is an albino (as evidenced by his red eyes), a trait found in just one in 30,000 deer. Piebald deer, who have patterns of white spots, are more common than albinos but are also rare. 

Abbey and her husband learned that their area has a “hot spot” for the genetic mutation and has a prevalent genetic lineage of albino deer, but they still feel blessed to spot such a rare animal in their own backyard. 

The deer reportedly made a second appearance on their property on Wednesday. They have started calling the deer “Casper.” “It’s close to Halloween and he was there and then he was gone, so it kind of felt like Casper the friendly albino deer,” Abbey said. 

Wow, what a sight! We would love to see one of these incredibly rare, beautiful animals in our yard someday.

However, the shelter had already given the dogs up for adoption according to their policy. Even though Bailey and Blaze were still available for adoption, James didn’t have enough money to pay the $250 adoption fee to get them back. James was unable to afford the adoption fee due to losing his savings during his hospitalization. In order to gather the funds, he decided to sell his car. 

Upon learning of James’ situation, the staff came together to assist him by contributing $5-$10 each until there was enough money to cover the fee. The video below shows James entering the shelter section of the store when he is not feeling well. He is unaware of the surprise awaiting him. 

As soon as a worker shares the truth about Bailey and Blaze, James becomes emotional, and his voice trembles with gratitude. Make sure you have some tissues nearby while you watch this emotional clip. It features a heartwarming reunion at the end that will restore your faith in humanity.
